HOW TO READ A NUMEROLOGY CHART

The Hierarchy of a Chart

Includes parts excerpted from Numerology; Key To Your Inner Self: A Complete Guide to Understanding and Using Your Numbers of Destiny

The Decoz Chart may look a little intimidating, but once you get used to the layout, it helps you oversee a chart in a way no other numerology method does.

The Numerology chart designed based on the decozchart system organizes the numbers and color-codes them to make it possible to oversee the chart quickly and easily

Although virtually every number in a personal chart is represented above, it’s essential to understand how to prioritize the relative value of each number and the significance of their position in the chart.

The Life Path, for example, carries far more weight than the Maturity and Balance numbers. In addition, each of the core numbers (the Life Path, Expression, Heart's Desire, Personality, and Birth Day number) have significance in your personality.

The Heart's Desire represents your inner needs and motivations - the more private you - while the Personality number reveals the more superficial aspect you show to the world. Your Personality number describes the way you interact with others and the way they perceive you when you first meet. Later, your closest relationships come to know the personal, inner you - your Heart's Desire.

One of the merits of numerology is its ability to dig deeply into who you are. It differentiates between the ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ you and reveals the numerous aspects of your personality. It also illustrates how these differing aspects influence each other.

What follows is a short course on how to prioritize the numbers in your chart, how to discern their individual importance, and how each aspect of the chart relates to a specific part of your being.

YOUR NUMEROLOGY CHART – What comes first?

The two main sources of insight are your full name at birth and your date of birth, and they affect you fundamentally different. Your name reflects WHO you are, what you are made off: the talents, strengths, shortcomings, and idiosyncracies that are uniquely yours. Your date of birth reflects your path; your personal evolution, your growth.

For that reason, it makes sense to start with the core numbers based on your name.

THE EXPRESSION

Follow with the Expression number, which reveals your talents, abilities, and goals. This number is particularly important in relation to career.

THE HEART'S DESIRE

Next read the Heart's Desire - the motivator behind virtually any choice you make, particularly those related to life style and environment. Your Heart's Desire number influences the type of environment you’d like to work in - alone or with others - in a small non-profit organization or large corporation - in the inner-city or a small town. Your Heart's Desire also influences the career you choose.

-Ω-

THE PERSONALITY NUMBER

The Personality number completes the picture. Remember, while the Personality number is the last of the core numbers, it is the first impression people have of you. In your career, the Personality number is often what gets you hired, while the Expression number is the largest influence on how well you’ll perform.

-Ω-

THE LIFE PATH NUMBER

The Life Path number, calculated from your birth name, is by far the most important number in your chart. Read this chapter first. Your Life Path number represents a cycle; as the longest cycle, it runs from the first day to the last day of your life.

-Ω-

THE BIRTHDAY NUMBER

Next, read the Birth Day number. In order of importance, your Birth Day number belongs in fifth or sixth place, but it’s closely related to the Life Path and should be seen in connection to it.

One of the most important concepts to recognize, and probably the least understood, is that every number in your date of birth reflects something about the "momentum" of your life. Their influence is the current that carries you forward in the stream of life. All numbers derived from your birth date relate to  something specific about the path you will walk and the opportunities and challenges you will encounter.

Your 5 core numbers describe your basic character. The rest of the chart takes a deeper look into the many nuances, individual character traits, strengths, and weaknesses that complete who you are.

-Ω-

THE CHALLENGE NUMBERS

Your Challengesfollow the core number chapters, and are, in my opinion, among the most important sources of information in your chart. Challenge numbers, more than any other number, point to aspects of your personality you need to work on. They represent the primary and most obvious obstacle(s) between you and success.

-Ω-

MATURITY NUMBER

Continue with the Maturity number, but keep in mind this influence doesn’t enter your life until after your early thirties (after which its impact grows more important as you age). The Maturity number is a seen as a secondary Life Path number; it adds specific challenges, as well as abilities, to your life.

THE KARMIC LESSONS, HIDDEN PASSION, SUBCONSCIOUS SELF, AND BALANCE NUMBER

Next, read the Karmic Lessons chapter which reveals weaknesses or undeveloped areas. Follow with the Hidden Passion, which conveys what you  love to do and what you excel at.

Move to the Subconscious Self to learn how confident and secure you are in your talents and abilities.

Your Balance number stands somewhat apart but is quite revealing, particularly when you are off-balance as a result of emotional turmoil. The Balance number reveals your strengths in turbulent times.

AND ONWARD...

The remainder of the chart continues with your Bridge Number, Cornerstone, Capstone, First VowelRational Thought number, and Planes of Expression. Each of these areas is well defined in the chart and easily identifiable in the role it plays in your life. Each represents subtle, but important aspects of your personality.

When you study a chart, look at the individual numbers and their relative position first. Next, look for core numbers that will have a strong impact on each other. (This is an aspect of numerology that requires practice and takes time.) For example, what happens when a person has a 1 Heart's Desire, an 8 Expression, and a 2 Personality? What does it mean when a person has three 4's among the core numbers, but many letters with the value of 5 in the name? With practice, you will learn to read a chart with confidence and clarity.
